who I am
Doc. Antonio Varanese is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon with many years of experience in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and body. Thousands of aesthetic and reconstructive mastoplasty procedures made over the years have led the practitioner to become one of the largest breast surgery experts on Italian territory.
He was born in Rome, where he currently lives, on October 19, 1954.
He obtained in July 1979 the Degree in Medicine and Surgery, in November 1985, the Specialization in General Surgery and in November 1995, the Specialization in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at the University "La Sapienza" of Rome.
In March 1984 he is a General Surgeon Assistant in the Division of General Surgery in the "Regina Elena" National Cancer Institute - Rome
He moved in 1988 at the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery newly established in Regina Elena Institute.
In June 1994 he is an Assistant of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Division of the National Cancer Institute "Regina Elena" - IFO - in Rome.
From August 2000 to July 2002 he served as Director of the Complex Reconstructive Plastic Surgery in the "Regina Elena" National Cancer Institute - IFO - Rome.
He has been an adjunct professor for 10 years at the School of Specialization in Oncology, University of Rome "Tor Vergata" for the Teaching Course "Role of Reconstructive Surgery of the Breast".
He is currently the Medical Director at the Division of Plastic Surgery National Cancer Institute "Regina Elena" - IRE - IFO Rome and runs parallel to that, the private professional services activities at several clinics in Rome.
He was a consultant plastic surgeon at ASL Rm A and Technical Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Court of Rome.
He has been registered at the โAlbo Provinciale dei Medici Chirurghiโ of Rome since 12/31/1979, No. 28256.

Socio IMI - Italian Melanoma Intergroup
He was part of the Multidisciplinary Group of Breast Cancer and the drafting of the Protocol "Treatment of Tumors of the Breast".
He participated in the drafting of the protocol "Treatment of sarcomas of soft tissue" and " Melanoma Treatment" of the Regina Elena institute.
Responsible for numerous Current Research Program and Targeted Research of the Ministry of Health on issues of the Reconstructive Breast Surgery.
He performed internships at the University of Nice and Liege and at the European School of Oncology.
He has performed over 8000 operations of breast Plastic Surgery (Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery) including the use of innovative techniques.
He is the author of over 70 scientific publications and speaker at various conferences.
